Abstract. We discuss computational aspects of verifying constructive criteria for the ergodicity of interacting particle systems. Both discrete time (probabilistic cellular automata) and continuous time spin flip dynamics are considered. We also investigate how the addition of an exchange or stirring dynamics influences the criteria and how the study of a corresponding percolation problem may sometimes improve the usual ergodicity criteria when considering dynamics on arbitrary graphs.
